Tommy Page's 1988 debut album consists of high-energy dance tracks dripping with synthesizer, mild techno beats and the occasional ballad (three to be exact). Those who only know him for his '90s pop music might be surprised to hear this early record -- it's filled with the kind of sound that his later material shows only traces of. It is a consistent and upbeat blending of songs, and even though it hits a couple of dead notes, such as the bland "Making My Move," there is an ambitious energy penetrating the album as a whole. The standout tracks include "A Zillion Kisses," "I Think I'm in Love" and the soaring, splendid, Arif and Joe Mardin-produced "A Shoulder to Cry On," which has a message and orchestration equal in beauty.

Britain’s Got Talent - Susan Boyle - 5 Songs Collection 2009

Susan Boyle (born 1961) is a Scottish amateur singer and church volunteer who came to public attention on 11 April 2009, when she appeared as a contestant on the third series of Britain’s Got Talent. Boyle found fame when she sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables in the competition’s first round.
Before she sang, both the audience and the judges appeared to express scepticism based on her unpolished appearance and awkwardness. In contrast, her vocal performance was so well received that she has been dubbed “The Woman Who Shut Up Simon Cowell”.She received a standing ovation from the live audience, garnering yes-votes from Cowell and Amanda Holden, and the “biggest yes I have ever given anybody” from Piers Morgan. The audition was recorded in January 2009 at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow, Scotland.
The juxtaposition of the reception to her voice with the audience’s first impression of her triggered global interest. Articles about her appeared in newspapers all over the world, while the numbers who watched her sing online set a record. Cowell is reported to be setting up a contract with Boyle with his Syco Music company label, a subsidiary of Sony Music.

2007 release of the sixth album by popular Italian tenor with the powerful yet oh-so-smooth voice that can melt anyone's heart the moment he opens his mouth. The title track starts the set off with it's geniune Arabic pop arrangement that will have your heart in your throat gasping for more. Songs of Love & Loss 2 is the eighth studio album by Australian singer and songwriter Tina Arena, released on 15 November 2008 by EMI in Australia.[1] Her second cover album, it follows on from Songs of Love & Loss, released in 2007, and includes covers of songs by Blondie, Lulu, Alice Cooper and Split Enz among others.[2] The first single, "Oh Me Oh My", was released to Australian radio on 22 October 2008 and made available for download on 8 November. The album was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for sales in excess of thirty-five thousand just three days after its release and debuted at #12 on the ARIA Album Chart.[3] A limited edition was released featuring a bonus DVD with a 10 minute documentary on the making of the album. The documentary was also available as a video download with pre-orders of the album from the iTunes Store. The digital release also contained a bonus track, a cover of Petula Clark's 1964 hit "Downtown".

This recording has profited greatly by being recorded in the Church of St. John in Orange, New Jersey. Not only is its fine acoustic very similar to many larger European parish churches, sympathetic to treble and a cappella voices, but its fine organ gives an indispensably vernacular flavor both to Faure and Satie. An 1879 instrument, built by the New England firm of E. and G.G. Hook & Hastings, its distinctive 'unblended' colors, unlike the symphonic instruments that followed, offer this organ music great character.

This album brings together some of the most beautiful sacred music from Paris written for treble voices over the past century. It is complemented by some wonderful and virtually unknown organ music by Gabriel Faure and Erik Satie. Conducted by James Litton, now Music Director Emeritus of the renowned American Boychoir.
